Optimo is one of the leading makers of bespoke, handcrafted hats, serving a diverse and global clientele. Based for more than 25 years in the historic southwest Chicago neighborhood of Beverly, the company had outgrown its former premises in a small storefront-turned-factory. Designed to support an efficient and collaborative workflow, the new headquarters more than doubles the company's production capacity and accommodates future expansion, while allowing Optimo to reaffirm its commitment to the community. The workshop on the first floor uses a palette of refined and understated materials, including blackened steel, walnut, and cork, to express a contemporary industrial aesthetic. Elegant steel casings frame task and ambient lighting above workstations; custom floor-to-ceiling shelving houses unique hat forms and molds; rolling racks allow hats to be organized and mobilized for seamless access on the factory floor; and both modern and antique machinery is finished uniformly in matte black.
Dear readers! Our articles talk about typical ways to solve the issue of renting industrial premises, but each case is unique.

There is nothing like the sound of jack hammers on concrete to let you know progress is underway. Preliminary work has begun on our build-out, including the demolition of our student break-room, some duct work, and selecting products and materials. With permit in hand any day now, the construction is slated to begin in late June or early July.
When the work is completed toward the end of this year, we will have a brand-new teaching kitchen and dining room for our Senior IMPACT Project, an indoor Orientation and Mobility course, a large multi-purpose training space, a conference room and a music room.
In all, we will add nearly 5, square feet of training and event space at Society for the Blind. In the meantime, we are finding new ways to share space. We get to enjoy live music twice a week when the music group meets for its jam sessions, and we get to watch the new space take shape little by little each day. Carter Company. Together, their teams are providing oversight to ensure our new space has all of the accessibility features we want and is a beautiful and inviting space for all.
We will share updates on the build-out along the way. If you would like to participate by donating to the construction project or providing items for the new space, check out our wish list. Toggle High Contrast Toggle Font size. June 17, 0 0. Categories: Shari's Vision.
The Places and Spaces of Fashion, brings together art, design, fashion, and a much neglected concern for its spatial realities. The spaces and places of fashion have often been overlooked in the writing of fashion history and visual culture. More often than not, however, these environments mitigate, control, inform, and enhance how fashion is experienced, performed, consumed, seen, exhibited, purchased, appreciated and of course displayed. Space, as this volume attempts to illustrate, is itself a representational strategy on par with and influencing the visibility and visuality of fashion.

A family-friendly block party with games like arty corn hole and a concert by NPR Tiny Desk Contest winners Tank and the Bangas will round out the schedule. The jam-packed schedule sheds light on how the institution sees itself: as a center of advanced art and performance by nationally and internationally known artists, an incubator of new talent and experimental ideas, and an institution that is very much part of a local community. MASS MoCA is touted as the largest of its kind in the world, and boasts a total of , square feet of exhibition space. It was the brainchild of local business leaders and Thomas Krens, then-director of the Williams College Museum of Art who would go on to lead the Guggenheim Museum in its global expansion.
November 1, - When I teach OSHA hour or OSHA hour classes for construction and general industry, we inevitably talk about head protection; and that means we discuss hard hats. And you may be surprised or maybe not to find that the manufacturers are not always in agreement on the answers! Currently, there are no requirements or tests to examine the effect that a cap or any other object worn inside a hard hat may have on hard hat performance. Therefore, Bullard recommends that hard hat users should never carry or wear anything inside a hard hat.
What is your instinctive approach to decision making? If you're naturally optimistic, then chances are you don't always consider potential downsides. Similarly, if you're very cautious or have a risk-averse outlook, you might not focus on opportunities that could open up. Often, the best decisions come from changing the way that you think about problems, and examining them from different viewpoints. It's also a powerful decision-checking technique in group situations, as everyone explores the situation from each perspective at the same time. Six Thinking Hats was created by Edward de Bono, and published in his book of the same name. You can now find it in a new edition. It forces you to move outside your habitual thinking style, and to look at things from a number of different perspectives. This allows you to get a more rounded view of your situation. You can often reach a successful solution or outcome from a rational, positive viewpoint, but it can also pay to consider a problem from other angles.

Cisco will occupy the 26 th through the 29 th floors along with the Innovation Centre. The backbone of this leading edge smart building is comprised of a single converged IP network. As we led the tour throughout the new office floors, however, we were able to demonstrate some of the really innovative and exciting things the converged IP network will enable. Possibly the most exciting feature of our new office is the PoE LED lighting, a revolutionary system that will undoubtedly change the construction industry. PoE lights run completely off the IP network and not off traditional electric cables, saving considerable amounts of energy. They can last for nearly 25 years without replacement, and allow optimal light level output when turned on.

Cosmetic Armor pieces are designed to be equipped in cosmetic armor slots and commonly don't offer significant stat boosts. They can be equipped in the cosmetic slot next to the armor slot in the inventory window, allowing for different styles without requiring currently equipped armor to be removed.

A hard hat is a type of helmet predominantly used in workplace environments such as industrial or construction sites to protect the head from injury due to falling objects, impact with other objects, debris, rain, and electric shock. Suspension bands inside the helmet spread the helmet's weight and the force of any impact over the top of the head. Some helmet shells have a mid-line reinforcement ridge to improve impact resistance. The rock climbing helmet fulfills a very similar role in a different context and has a very similar design.

Every year around this time, I offer a brief update on the major building projects going on around the university — a peek behind the blue fences, so to speak. It gives me the opportunity to indulge in two of my favorite topics, architecture and history.
